Ventura Aerospace 777F Main Deck Fire Suppression System

There is an ever increasing risk to air freight posed by Class D metal fires. Class D fires include lithium. Lithium is a common material used in the manufacturing of batteries. Batteries are so prevalent in modern devices that they are quickly becoming the the dominant cause of fires aboard aircraft. Currently lithium batteries are not classified as hazardous materials. As such batteries and the multitude of devices that they are installed in can be shipped worldwide with little or no control. Lithium Ion and Lithium Polymer batteries have been identified as the cause of at least three fires within the past year onboard aircraft. Ventura Aerospace Fire Suppression Systems have been shown to be effective in suppressing these types of fires.
