Thermal monitoring of cargo compartments is an indispensable safety system. The ability to reliably know the exact temperature of each and every ULD onboard an aircraft in real time is a necessity.

Thermal monitoring can provide the flight crew detailed information about the contents of the cargo compartments. This is possible not only during flight but more importantly on the ground. This allows the flight crew a go or no go opportunity based on the thermal characteristics of the freight loaded into the aircraft.

As part of our Main Deck Fire Suppression Systems, Ventura Aerospace has developed a system that can measure the thermal characteristics of every container or pallet installed on an aircraft. This system is unique in that it is entirely aircraft based and does not make contact with any part of the container or pallet.

Our thermal monitoring system can account for irregular pallet loads and different pallets heights. This means that there are no loading restrictions for the cargo compartment.

A typical main deck thermal monitoring system has as many as 232 thermal sensors mounted in the ceiling of the aircraft. These sensors are located above the each of the ULD positions in the aircraft.
